Our Team & Mission

We're a collective of game designers, color theorists, and passionate gamers dedicated to exploring the relationship between color, emotion, and player experience in video games.

Our Story

GameMoodboard team working together

GameMoodboard began in 2021 when our founder, Emily Chen, noticed how distinctly different color palettes in games created vastly different emotional experiences for players. What started as a personal blog documenting color theory in popular game titles has evolved into a collaborative platform with contributors from around the gaming industry.

Our mission is to highlight the often overlooked aspect of color design in games, provide resources for developers, and celebrate the artistry behind the visual aesthetics that make our favorite games so impactful.

Based in London with team members across Europe and North America, we combine academic research with practical industry experience to bring you insights about the psychology and application of color in interactive entertainment.
